Hello everyone, Matthew Hemenway here. In this video, I will be reviewing and analyzing Moon Knight Season 1 Episode 2 that is currently on Disney+. I will go over several topics in this video. I am working on a page for you to help support the channel. You can also go to my website to become a subscriber, or you can donate to the website which will help support the channel. Thank you. Now on with the review.

The episode starts off with the viewer seeing what happened on the previous episode. The name of the episode is Summon the Suit. They start off the episode with Steven Grant waking up with chain and hears the jackals barking in the background. He thinks he is going mad, but he sees that he is not. He gets to the museum, sees the security guard, and asks him to watch the video. He does, but he and the guard do not see jackals, only him running around. It looks like he is a vagrant or a vandal. Steven later meets with his boss and his boss lets him go.

Steven later gets home, and he goes to the storage area like a POD. It has a U which leads him to the storage container. He finds a bag of money and Passport from the U.S. that makes him think he is a secret agent. He sees Marc in the mirror, and he tells him he has a mission, and he must get ready to act. Marc tells him that he is an agent for Khonsu, the Egyptian Moon God. He tells Steven that he is Khonsu’s instrument of justice. He must pay a debt to Khonsu as he was resurrected by Khonsu after he died. Marc was a mercenary. Steven found the seraph which acts as a compass to find Anmit. The seraph reminds me of the snitch in Harry Potter in that has wings and that was golden too.

Steven tries to escape with the bag of money and passport and with the seraph. Steven sees Khonsu. He tries to run away, but he gets outside and runs into Layla. Layla as was teased to the viewer in the last episode, and she was the 1 that called Marc when he found the stuff in his flat. A flat is another word for apartment. Layla tells Marc, what happened to you. She takes him on her bike back to his flat.

Layla sees his apartment and they see that he lives alone and that he has a chain to his bed. As Steven explains to her that he is afraid of ending up somewhere and that is why he sleeps with the chain. Layla finds the seraph and tells Steven that they have been looking for this a long time and how could he look for it without her help. Marc tells Steven in the mirror that he needs not to bring Layla in this. This is beyond you.

Steven later answers the door and 2 people posing to be police officers arrest Steven AKA Marc. Steven later ends up in a village with Arthur Harrow. Arthur told him that he used to serve Khonsu, but he serves Anmit. He tells Steven that Khonsu’s justice comes too late. Arthur takes Steven to a dining room, and they eat lentil soup. I have had lentil soup and it is good. Anmit would cure the diseased. Steven asks him, what about a child. I could not kill a child for something it may not do in 30 years.

Layla gets there with seraph and they must get out of there as Arthur calls on the power of Anmit from his staff is like a cane. Steven runs in a room with Layla that is on the 2nd floor. Layla tells Marc/Steven to summon the suit. Marc/Steven summons the suit and Marc asks Steven in the mirror what are they wearing. They are wearing the suit that looks like a business suit. It has a mask that is white and the suit including the tie he wears is white and is accurate to the comics. Steven is still in control when this happens. He is fighting a demon and he is getting his butt kicked. Marc tells him, you must let me take control. Steven lets Marc take control and they get out of it. In the process, he losses the seraph. The seraph ends up with Arthur Harrow. Layla sees it after Arthur kills a person for giving the seraph to him.

Marc tells Steven that he needs to keep control. Marc smashes the glass like in the TV spot to tell Steven to shut up. Marc will not give Steven control. Khonsu tells Marc that you said you could keep control of this body. Khonsu told him, do not forget what I did for you by bringing you back from the dead. If you decide to leave this arrangement, then I will have someone close to your heart do my bidding. Khonsu is referring to Layla. That is why Marc was divorcing her to protect her. Marc did not want to mix her up in this. Marc later ends up in Egypt after Khonsu said where do you think. They needed to get to Anmit’s tomb before Arthur Harrow does.

I give this episode a 10 out of 10. I thought it was well done and faithful to the comics. I thought it did an excellent job of giving the viewer twists and turns. I thought it did a superb job of showing how multiple personalities struggle.

Stay tuned for my next video as I will be reviewing a book called The Stolen Kingdom: An Aladdin retelling as I plan to have that video out by April 11, 2022. You can find the book on Amazon.
